Abhi came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Northeastern University where he majored in Political Science and Biology. Before attending Icahn, Abhi commissioned into the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant through the ROTC program. He entered the MD/MPH program in 2021.
While at Icahn, Abhi has held numerous student leadership positions, most recently serving as the student body president. He has actively engaged in global health work ranging from ambulatory surgical care research in Uganda to a rotation in Emergency Medicine in Nepal. He also served as a teaching senior and chronic care senior in EHHOP. As a part of his MPH work, he volunteered with GMHC (Gay Men’s Health Crisis) as a sexual health testing counselor and also conducted research on HIV Self-Testing.
Abhi will graduate with his MD and MPH degree and continue his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Denver Health/University of Colorado.
