Áine joined the PhD program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2019 after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and Master’s degree in Biomedical Genomics at the University of Galway, Ireland.
At Icahn Mount Sinai, Áine focused on utilizing human genetic data to inform drug target prioritization under the mentorship of Dr. Ron Do. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals, including two where she is the first or co-first author, and she received the GGS Outstanding Trainee Paper Award.
Áine would like to thank her mentor, Dr. Ron Do, for his invaluable support and mentorship throughout her academic journey. She also extends her thanks to her lab mates and faculty mentors for their encouragement and contributions to her training. Lastly, she is incredibly grateful to her family and friends for their unwavering love and support.
As Áine graduates with her PhD degree, she begins her role as Scientific Investigator at GSK, where she aims to build on her doctoral research using human genetics to improve target discovery.
