Alexandra Fink

Alexandra started her PhD in Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in August of 2020, after graduating with a B.S. in Neuroscience from Duke University, where she studied under Kafui Dzirasa, MD, PhD for her honors thesis research. Alexandra’s doctoral research studied the neural circuitry underlying human decision-making using human intracranial neurophysiology in the labs of Ignacio Saez, PhD and Xiaosi Gu, PhD. Alexandra was awarded graduate funding by the NIH National Institute of Aging T32 Training Grant until she received the competitive National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship award in her second year of her PhD, which funded the remainder of her PhD. At Mount Sinai, Alexandra dedicated her time to service through Mentoring in Neuroscience Discovery (MiNDS) as co-president for three years, by serving as the neuroscience student representative on the PhD admissions committee for multiple years, and in her role as Teaching Assistant for several graduate school courses throughout her PhD.

Alexandra will graduate with her PhD in Neuroscience and continue her career as a neuroscientist in NYC, while continuing to pursue her passion for service and scientific outreach.
