Colby came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Brown University, where he majored in Anthropology. Before attending Mount Sinai, Colby worked on the Clinical Operations team at Cityblock Health. He entered the MD program in 2021.
While at ISMMS, Colby has been a committed leader and student clinician at the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP), Mount Sinai’s student-run free clinic, serving as both the 2nd Year Co-Chair and the Chief Teaching Senior. Colby’s scholarly work has focused on the use of Community Paramedicine models amongst homebound patients, for which he received funding through the Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program and published his research in the Journal of American Geriatric Society. Colby also co-led the design and implementation of an EHR-based quality improvement project aimed at promoting primary palliative care within the Cardiac ICU through the High Value Care Student Group.
As a 4th year student, Colby was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society by his peers, and he won both the Harold Elster Memorial Prize for Clinical Acumen and the Milton C. Engel, MD, Award for Excellence in Geriatric Medicine.
Colby would like to thank his family, friends, partner, mentors, and patients who have shaped his growth as a physician and supported him in this journey. Colby will graduate with his MD degree and is excited to begin his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA.
