Daniel came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Princeton University, where he majored in Sociology. Before attending Icahn, Daniel worked as a Business Analyst for McKinsey & Co., where he worked primarily with healthcare systems and the pharmaceutical industry. He entered the MD program in 2021.
While at Icahn, Daniel conducted research with faculty from the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. His published works have explored disparities in utilization and outcomes of neuraxial anesthesia in hip fracture patients with Dr. Garrett Burnett, as well as anesthesiologist involvement in alternative payment models with Dr. Jonathan Gal. He was the recipient of a Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship, sponsored by the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER), which he used to conduct research with the Stanford Chariot Program on applications of immersive technologies in pediatric anesthesiology. In addition, he participated in the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP) as a Teaching Senior, co-led the Health Policy Program, and helped co-found the Nutrition and Culinary Medicine Nexus course.
Daniel would like to thank his family, friends, and the wonderful faculty members at Mount Sinai who have shaped his clinical upbringing and created unforgettable experiences and opportunities for him that he will cherish forever.
Daniel will graduate with his MD degree and continue his residency training as a Transitional Year intern at Tucson Medical Center, followed by an advanced Anesthesiology position at Stanford Healthcare.
