DeAnalisa came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Columbia University, where she majored in Biomedical Engineering. Before matriculating into the MD/PhD Program in 2018, DeAnalisa was a Post-baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) Scholar at Icahn.
While at Icahn, DeAnalisa founded the school’s Association of Native American Medical Students (ANAMS) chapter and served on the ANAMS National Executive Board and the American Medical Association Medical Student Section Committee on American Indian Affairs. DeAnalisa also received two Anti-Racism Fellowships from the Institute for Equity and Justice in Health Sciences Education and a Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute.
DeAnalisa thanks her parents Don and Deborah Jones for teaching her by example to be an advocate and to stand up for what is right and her mentors Drs. Terry Krulwich and Eric Sobie for showing her the impact and importance of investing in others as a mentor.
DeAnalisa will graduate with her MD and PhD degrees and continue on to her residency training in the Internal Medicine Research Track at the Mount Sinai Hospital.
