Liza Magill joined the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai through the FlexMed program from Boston College, where she majored in International Studies with a focus on Global Health and Bioethics. Before Mount Sinai, she completed a Global Health Corps fellowship in Uganda and worked at Columbia University’s Global Mental Health Program. She entered the MD-MPH dual degree program in 2020. At Mount Sinai, Liza volunteered at the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership’s mental health clinic, creating a consult-liaison program to better integrate mental health into primary care. She also spent a Scholarly Year with Partners In Health’s global mental health team in Rwanda and Lesotho and published research on implementation of psychological interventions across low-resource settings. Liza will graduate with her MD-MPH and begin Psychiatry residency at Stanford University.
