Jacob Sherman

Jacob attended Northwestern University for undergrad, where he studied economics and global health. He then completed his premedical classes in a postbacc at Columbia University. Prior to starting medical school at Mount Sinai, Jacob worked for 2 years in Washington D.C. doing street outreach and case management at a community mental health agency.

At Mount Sinai, Jacob had the privilege of participating in the Primary Care Scholars Program, where he learned from mentors working in primary care in underserved settings and grew his interests in Family Medicine. Throughout medical school, he has been an active volunteer at EHHOP, the student-run clinic, in various clinical and leadership roles. Prior to his 4th year, Jacob took a scholarly year to work on health-policy research and learn medical Spanish while living in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Jacob will begin his residency this summer in Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in their community-health track. He is grateful for the endless support of his wife and family.

Jacob Sherman is receiving the:
