Ivan came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Columbia University, where he majored in Data Science. Before attending Icahn Mount Sinai, Ivan worked as a Data Analyst for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the Department of Medical Physics. He entered the MD program in 2022.
At Icahn Mount Sinai, Ivan participated in the Primary Care Scholars program, where he learned from mentors working in primary care in underserved settings. This experience strengthened his commitment to the intersection of Family Medicine and Psychiatry. Throughout medical school, he has been active at East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP), the student-run, physician-supervised free clinic, as a Mental Health Clinician. He was a Co-Leader of both the Family Medicine and Psychiatry Interest Groups and presented twice on his research on using artificial intelligence to aid in diagnosing personality disorders.
Ivan traveled to Ukraine to assist refugees and continues to lead the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America’s telehealth initiative for displaced patients. He is deeply grateful to his family, friends, and mentors for their support throughout his journey.
Ivan will graduate with his MD and continue his training in a combined Family Medicine and Psychiatry residency at UPMC St. Margaret and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital.
