Jacqueline came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in Biopsychology. Before matriculating into the PhD program in Neuroscience in 2021, Jacqueline was a postbaccalaureate student at Icahn through the NIH funded Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP). While at Icahn, Jacqueline served as Co-Chair of 'Students for Equal Opportunity in Science' (SEOS), a graduate student-led organization dedicated to promoting diversity, providing resources for underrepresented students, improving faculty mentorship, and increasing networking opportunities in STEM. She also volunteered with 'Mentoring in Neuroscience Discovery at Sinai' teaching neuroscience lessons to middle school students and worked closely with PREP leadership to develop a mentorship program. Her doctoral research culminated in two manuscripts, one peer-reviewed publication in Digital Medicine and one that is currently under review. Jacqueline would like to thank her family, friends, SEOS executive board, and the faculty members at Sinai who supported her commitment to promoting equal opportunities in STEM throughout her PhD journey. Jacqueline will graduate with her PhD degree in Neuroscience and begin a career in medical writing in New York.
