Lauren Stalbow came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from the Macaulay Honors College at Queens College where she majored in Neuroscience. Before attending Icahn, Lauren worked at the Rockefeller University studying neurodevelopment. She entered the MD-PhD program in 2017.
While at Icahn, Lauren participated in and was a student leader of the Women in MSTP club, promoting mentorship opportunities for students in the MD-PhD program. She also was a member of student council, serving as the MD-PhD representative on the steering committee. During her tenure, she has authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals spanning topics such as diabetes, long-QT syndrome, and dependent care while in an MD-PhD program.
Lauren would like to thank her family, friends and faculty members at Mt. Sinai who have enriched her time in medical school. She especially would like to thank her PhD mentor, Dr. Ruth Loos, and the director of the MSTP program, Dr. Talia Swartz.
Lauren will graduate with her MD-PhD degree and continue her residency training in Medical Genetics at the Mount Sinai Hospital.
