Rebecca Cohen

Rebecca came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Duke University, where she majored in Biomedical Engineering. Before attending Icahn Mount Sinai, she completed a Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program at Columbia University. She entered the MD program in 2021.

While at Icahn Mount Sinai, Rebecca pursued research in gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, women’s cardiovascular disease, quality improvement, and artificial intelligence (AI). She was awarded the Diversity Innovation Hub Fellowship to complete a Scholarly Year in the Windreich Department of AI and Human Health, where she applied machine learning and wearable technology to OB/GYN research.

Throughout medical school, Rebecca volunteered with the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP), the student-run, physician-supervised free clinic, where she served as Access to Care Chair, Physician Recruitment Chair, and Gynecology Teaching Senior. She also volunteered as an abortion doula, served as a case manager for the Mount Sinai Human Rights Program, and traveled to Kenya with the Saving Mothers organization. In addition, she co-directed the OB/GYN Medical Student Research Group and mentored third-year medical students during their OB/GYN clerkship. She was elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Rebecca is deeply grateful for her mentors, classmates, and the Mount Sinai community for their support, dedication to teaching, and for serving as outstanding role models. She also thanks her family and friends for their unwavering love and encouragement.

Rebecca will graduate with her MD degree and continue her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
