Uchechukwu Okoh

Uche came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from Johns Hopkins University, where she majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Spanish. Before attending Icahn Mount Sinai, she worked as a medical assistant and vaccine coordinator at Prospect Pediatrics. She entered the MD program in 2022 as a National Health Service Corps Scholar.

While at Icahn Mount Sinai, Uche has been actively engaged in global health, research, and medical education. She conducted research in Navrongo, Ghana, examining the burden of noncommunicable diseases in regions undergoing epidemiologic transition, and completed a clinical elective in Eldoret, Kenya, providing pediatric and psychiatric care for patients with complex medical conditions. She has also served as a peer tutor and teaching assistant for first- and second-year medical students, and contributed to peer-reviewed research, including a publication focused on dermatologic conditions in pediatric populations.

Uche would like to thank the Department of Pediatrics for their mentorship and guidance, as well as her family and friends for their continued support throughout her medical education.

Uche will graduate with her MD degree and continue her residency training in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Utah.
