Meet 2026 Award Recipient

Zhe Sang

Zhe came to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as a PhD student from University of Pittsburgh, where he focused on antibody discovery and antibody design using machine learning. He entered the PhD program in 2022.

While at Sinai, Zhe developed computational methods for large-scale modeling of antibody–antigen interactions, integrating proteomics data with AI-driven design. His work resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications and the creation of high-throughput pipelines for antibody discovery and engineering.

In addition to his research, Zhe has been actively involved in academic service. He served in the Student Postdoc Association (SPA) within the Department of Pharmacological Sciences (DPS), and was elected President for the 2024–2025 term. In 2025, he also served on the PhD admissions committee as a student representative.

Zhe would like to thank his mentors, collaborators, and colleagues for their support and for creating an interdisciplinary environment that shaped his training.

Zhe will continue his career as an AI scientist in antibody design, focusing on translating machine learning advances into therapeutic development

Zhe Sang is receiving the:
